Tim,
This Logo design is my submission for your contest. I have designed a modern logo aimed at a younger generation as requested in your breif.
It is smiple with clean, dynamic flowing lines that gives the logo energy. It works well in colour, black and inverded. I have replace the inner on the 'D' with the iconic Optimist Dinghy sail shape.
I have also included a mock up of one way you could use this logo on a sweatshirt and on a bussiness card for promoting your orginization at events.
